Dear Classmate,

It's that time of year again – Princeton Reunions are just 4 weeks away! Our Class will be celebrating its 47th Reunion this year with:
  • Specific Class of 1971 activities on Friday, June 1 and Saturday, June 2, and as
  • Members of the 45th Reunion Combine hosted by the Class of 1973 over the period May 31 to June 3.
We encourage everyone to join us for our "Class Activities" starting with Friday's dinner on June 1, followed by numerous activities on Saturday, June 2, plus enjoy the other Reunions functions over the rest of the weekend. As we all know from past years, these events include:
  • Bands and beverages at the 45th Combine in the Holder Hall courtyard
  • Seminars on a broad range of topics and other activities organized by the Alumni Association, including theater, sporting events, campus tours, special events and a cappella singing, detailed in the 60+ page printed (and on-line) 2018 Reunions Guide (soon to be available here).

CLASS OF 1971 ACTIVITIES ON FRIDAY, JUNE 1, AND SATURDAY, JUNE 2.
We have organized a number of Class functions for your enjoyment. For planning purposes we request that you register on our Class website, www.princeton71.org,for both the FREE and the "for pay" events with total attendees from your group to help us in our planning. Our specific 1971 activities are:
  • Friday night multi-class BBQ (a "for pay" event). On Friday night the Class will be part of the multi-class BBQ in the Hamilton Courtyard just off the Holder HQ for the 45th Combine. This dinner starts at 6 PM and ends at 8 PM. The cost is $35 per registrant. The dinner fare is burgers (including veggie burgers), hot dogs, grilled chicken, various salads, desserts, and sodas/water. A full bar with beer, wine, and hard liquor is also part of the dinner. We will be joined by the classes of '67, '69, '70, '74, and '75 giving you an opportunity to mix with other Princetonians from our era.
  • Class Lunch at Chancellor Green Hall, Lower Hyphen in the East Pyne building (FREE). The Class will be hosting a FREE LUNCH for all class members, their families, and guests at the indoor, lower grotto named Lower Hyphen in Chancellor Green Hall (the building where the student center was in the old days) from 11:30 to 1:30. This is a new location for us, across the walkway from the Joseph Henry House patio. The lunch is an excellent gathering providing an opportunity to see old friends and catch up on everyone's recent events. The food is being catered by the award-winning D'Angelo Italian Market (Spring Street) and will consist of (1) a selection of specialty sandwiches and wraps (including a variety of vegetarian options), (2) honey mustard chicken tenders, (3) grilled vegetables, and (4) a Waldorf salad. Beverages – soda, water, beer and wine as well as Mt. Gay rum – will be served.
  • The One and Only P-Rade. The P-Rade starts at 2:00 PM. Our Class congregates on Cannon Green just behind Nassau Hall. Come dressed in 1971 Reunions gear and enjoy the pageantry.
  • Class Cocktail Reception at Prospect House (FREE). Starting at 5 PM following the P-Rade, the Class will host a FREE COCKTAIL RECEPTION in the Library at Prospect House. All Class members, their families, and friends are invited to this event. There is an open bar and both passed and tabled hors d'oeuvres will be served until 6:30.
  • Class Dinner at Prospect House (a "for pay" event). Immediately following the cocktail reception, the Class Dinner will be held in the President's Room at Prospect House. The dinner fare is a gourmet three-course meal comprised of appetizer course #1: Lightly Grilled Baby Gem Lettuce Salad, main course #2: Rosemary Grilled Free Range Chicken Breast, and dessert course #3: Strawberry Peach Crumb Tart. Special orders including vegetarian options are available due to food allergies and/or dietary restrictions if we are notified in advance through the registration form on the Class website. The full bar will be kept open through the serving of the main course for use by those dining with us. We encourage all class members to attend this event with your "entourage." We can promise you an enjoyable and memorable time. Dinner will end in time for you to attend the fireworks at the south end of the campus. The price per person is $71, the amount needed to cover its cost, and payment should be made in advance.

Friday night: Liquid Pleasure, a high energy party band, will be sure to get us on our feet to dance the night away with R&B, Motown, Oldies and Beach Music.

Saturday night: After the fireworks, the Blushing Brides, a Rolling Stones tribute band, will entertain us and keep us dancing until midnight.

To find out what is happening at the 45th Combine go to the Class of 1973 website. Note: the Class of 1973 meals and special functions are closed to its class members and guests only.
