Class Winter Tradition Continues in San Diego
Don’t miss this year’s Class of ’71 Mini Reunion in San Diego, happening on Saturday and Sunday, February 4 and 5, 2023. These gatherings have become a Class of ’71 mainstay event for over a quarter of a century and likely as a result of new and deepening friendships, they are getting better every year.
This year’s plan is similar to last year's, which was the best ever.
Saturday afternoon-evening party at the Smiths' in Carlsbad. 3:00PM til 8:30 or 9:00. Beer, wine and soft drinks along with hors d'oeuvres and a stack of pizzas from the previously applauded, local Rosati's Pizza.
Sunday morning and early afternoon visit to beautiful Balboa Park with its many excellent museums, including The San Diego Museum of Art, The Timken Museum of Art, The Museum of Photographic Arts, The Museum of Us (formerly the Museum of Man) and The San Diego Aerospace Museum, which celebrates San Diego’s long aerospace heritage. The park also has several beautiful gardens to walk. A light, casual, no-host lunch will happen along with a possible visit to the I-Max Theater in the Fleet Science Center depending on what is being shown.
Sunday evening margaritas, beers and an excellent Mexican dinner beginning at 5:00PM at Tony’s Jacal in Solana Beach, our traditional Sunday gathering place.
So make plans to come join the 35 classmates and spouses who have already signed up for this event! It is a nice time of year to visit San Diego. Extend your stay with a visit to nearby relatives or friends or a round of golf, which several locals can arrange, or enjoy some quiet time strolling the beach listening to the surf.
Contact Class Vice President Geoff Smith at vicepresident@princeton71.org so we can make plans to receive you and please feel free to ask any questions.
