Homecoming 2017 - Much to Enjoy
It's almost here -- Princeton's 2017 Homecoming Saturday -- November 11th. It's hard to believe that it has been 50 years since our first Homecoming Saturday in 1967. Please plan on joining us back in Princeton as the Class and the University have a number of events lined up for you to enjoy.
Saturday morning kicks off with a number of seminars and lectures that you can attend. The featured lecture sponsored by the Alumni Council is the Fall Football Lecture with Sam Wang, Professor of Neuroscience, Founder, The Princeton Election Consortium and co-host, "Politics & Polls" from 10:00-11:00 AM in McDonnell Hall A01.
For your enjoyment there are 2 FREE TAILGATES you can attend. The first is the Tiger Tailgate hosted by the Alumni Association to cheer on Princeton Football as they beat Yale!
Annual Tiger Tailgate
11:00 a.m. - 12:45 p.m.
Fine Plaza
1:00 p.m. Game Kickoff
Lunch and refreshments are provided with reserved seating by class/graduate alumni. Our tables will be in the '70's section. For planning purposes, advance registration is greatly appreciated, so please RSVP via the link here.
The second option is a FREE Class of 1971 Tailgate hosted by the Class of 1971 Executive Committee. The tailgate starts at 11:00 AM in the upper part of Lot #4, which is behind Cap & Gown alongside Roper Lane and will go on until the 1:00pm kickoff. Jack Hittson's and Podie Lynch's cars will be the center piece of this class event where an assortment of food and beverages will be served. This tailgate is the recommended option for all '71ers and their families and guests that are "Coming Back" this year.
The game kicks off at 1:00 p.m. The team is vying for the Big 3 (HYP) championship as the Tigers beat Harvard earlier this season. Seats are plentiful -- but my preference is in the end zone where you can see all of the plays developing. It's an exciting view especially when the Tigers are knocking on the end zone. There is also a groundswell to have an "orange out" where everyone is encouraged to wear their orange gear to make the stadium a sea of orange in support of the football team. I hope to see you there!
Finish off Homecoming by coming to our Class of 1971 post game reception held in the second floor library of The Tiger Inn. Hot finger foods are served as well as a full bar -- wine, beer, a selection of hard liquors, soft drinks, and juices. It is a great chance to catch up with old friends and classmates. You, your family, and guests/friends are all welcome. Best yet...it's FREE! Please let me know if you and your group will be attending this reception so I can make sure we have enough supplies. Just drop an email to jack.hittson@gmail.com with how many will be in your party.
