Win over Yale Earns Tigers a Bonfire
By Jeff Hammond '71, Reunion Chair, and Stu Rickerson '71, SWLF Chair
The horrendous weather, which pushed the game's start back by more than 90 minutes, changed nearly everyone’s planned schedules and reduced turnout at our Class post-game reception. The 1971 Library at TI was still a welcome, warm place with bountiful food to repair afterwards for the victorious celebrants (“we few, we happy few” to quote the Bard) who decided to join us. With the win, the Tigers secured a Big Three Championship and a Bonfire held on Cannon Green.
Present were Class President Jaime Pitney (pictured) and Ginger, outgoing Reunions duo Stu Rickerson (pictured) and Jack Hittson and Ronnie, Ken Hall, Sandy McAdoo and Elsie, and current Reunions Chair Jeff Hammond, and two stray members from the Class of '74. All in all, it was a success of sorts as we kept our 20+ year tradition of Tiger Inn receptions alive, enjoyed the 1971 Library avenue and donated leftover sliders and chicken wings to the grateful club members.
