Notes on Qualifying Charitable Distributions (QCD) and the SWLF One final insight: Now that most of us are at least 70½, please consider making a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) from your traditional IRA to SWLF. Here’s how it works: - You can give up to $100,000 of your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD), and the gift is excluded from your adjusted gross income for tax purposes, reducing your taxable income for the year
- You make a distribution directly from your IRA to SWLF
- The distribution counts toward your Required Minimum Distribution for the year.
For more information on any of this, please contact Stu Rickerson (email SWLF@princeton71.org).
